Terreno is about the ground we walk on.

Núcleo Terreno is a research and creation group that has existed since 2017 and whose training and practices are based on Butô dance, Physical Theater and the poetics of masks.
 

Terreno understands dance and movement as a profound experience of allowing yourself to "be moved". The body is not seen as a tool to express emotions or opinions, but the body is the expression. A survey of possibilities and limits.

Our training process starts far from the personal body.  We are looking for a context of a Nikutai body; a carnal, visceral body. In Hijikata's view, the Nikutai is in the opposite direction of the useful and docile body. It is at this moment that we begin to see what is in space. What exists between ourselves and the rest of the world. The invisible becomes visible. It is at this moment that the body that dances Butô reaches its potential for dialogue with space and the world.
